A full agenda of 25 items awaits the Town of Jonesboro Board of Aldermen at their regular monthly meeting that is scheduled to be held at the Charles H. Garrett Community Center, located at 182 Industrial Avenue, beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 13th.
After the perfunctory approval of the month of March minutes, bills, financials and department head reports the Town Council will first visit a resolution involving a 40 year lease agreement between E.L. Johnson and the town followed by James Bradford discussing the zoning of 705 Leon Drive. The proposed termination and hiring of a part time dispatcher by the Jonesboro Police Department as well as discussion involving the override by the board members of the Mayor’s veto of hiring Sketea Walker takes place next.
Discussion about Operation Clean-up and the setting of a community clean up date will precede comments by Mayor Leslie Thompson, who will then ask for Patricia Cowans to be authorized as a signer for the town and for the Mayor to be authorized to enter into a lease agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of America.
A public records request will then be heard before a resolution regarding a grant for the airport and four ordinances pertaining to the general budget, water and sewer departments are discussed. Final council and Mayor comments will then be heard before the meeting is adjourned.
