Don Alvin Greer

Don Alvin Greer, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
Mr. Greer was born December 2, 1928 in Jonesboro, Louisiana, the second of two sons, to Fred E. Greer and Willie (Tolar) Greer. He lived his childhood in Jonesboro, Louisiana until leaving home to attend Louisiana Tech University. After earning his degree as an electrical engineer, he married his childhood sweetheart, Alma Faye Robinson.

Don served as an officer in the United States Army in Korea from 1951 to 1952 and then started his nearly 40-year career with South Central Bell/AT&T. When he wasn’t working, he spent every moment with friends and family. He maintained lifelong relationships with friends from high school and college, and made new ones along the way through work, coaching Little League, and playing tennis into his late 70’s.
Don’s heart belonged to his wife of 71 years and his family. His dedication to his life partner, children, and grandchildren remained steadfast every day of his life. “Dado” will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and in our hearts forever!
Mr. Greer is survived by his wife, Alma Robinson Greer of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Diane G. Miller of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Shelby Smith and wife, Carol Ann Smith of Shreveport, LA; granddaughter, Ashley Gage and husband, Drew Gage of Prosper, TX; granddaughter, Madison Greer of New Orleans, LA; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan and Shelby “Lanie” Smith, and Harper, Finley, and Greer Gage; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Fred E. Greer and Willie (Tolar) Greer of Jonesboro, LA; his brother, Tolar Greer; and son, Don A. Greer, Jr. of Dallas, TX.
Services will be delayed indefinitely at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice.

Linda Louise Ramsey
December 13, 1947 – December 06, 2021

Linda Louise Ramsey, age 73 of North Hodge, went to be by her Lord and Savior’s side on Monday, December 6, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her family was her biggest treasure. Whatever Linda set out to do she always did it to the fullest extent of her abilities. Some say she always gave 150% no matter what the task. She loved music and enjoyed singing until she lost her voice in 2000. She liked to fish when she found the time and she could always find time to dance. One of her favorite things to do was to dance along to the Ellen Degeneres Show when it came on the television. She loved having her kids around her and being able to help others. Linda was a member at Wellspring Church and was a devoted Christian. There is no doubt that she is singing in Heaven now.

Linda is survived by her son, James Roseberry & Sherri; daughters, Laura Elliott, Angela Frith; grandchildren, Gabriel Shively, Ashley Nixon, Christopher Nixon, Kourtney Roseberry; sister, Jackie Keith; brother, Larry Head & Paula. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lonnie Ramsey; great grandson, Austin Ashcraft; parents, Delbert & LaVada (Burkes) Head Worthington; brothers, Michael Head, Clinton Head.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Walsworth officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Cemetery under the direction Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers were David Keith, Trenton Toms, Mitch Bramlett, Daniel Head, Gabriel Shively, Brian Culver.
