Malone and Mozee to participate in 1-20 Bowl Game on Sunday

Tiger fans can get another glimpse of two of their favorite sons in action this Saturday and Sunday when  Tydre Malone and Devontea Mozee participate in the fifth annual I-20 Bowl Game to be played at Ruston High School.

Festivities kick off with a “greet and meet” of the team from 9:00 – 11:00am on Saturday, December 18th that will have tons of activities for men, women and children to enjoy such as a bowling competition, games and other fun things to do.

Then on Sunday the top senior talent in north Louisiana will square off in an East vs West battle that will kick off at 2:00pm. The East currently has a 3-1 advantage over the West, who JHHS quarterback and defensive back/wide receiver will play for.

Malone and Mozee were selected after stellar senior seasons that culminated with a district 1-2A district tri-hampionship and a Class AA state semi-fjinals berth. Malone broke virtually every single game, season and career passing record at JHHS after completing 158 passes in 258 attempts for 2553 yds and 36 touchdowns against only 8 interceptions. Mozee re-wrote many of the receiving records including season records of 876 yards for 17 TD’s, as well as, a game record 188 yards in the semi-final contest. He also returned 4 of his 6 interceptions on the year for touchdowns, still yet another record and returned a punt for a score to finish with 22 TD’s

Ten area coaches selected from a pool of Northeast Louisiana high schools to fill up this year’s All-Star team. Only three players from each school could be selected for the initial roster. Alternates may join the roster in the event of injury or cancellation by a selected player of which JHHS defensive end Javeon Andrews was selected as.
