Quitman High School commemorates those gone to early

Gone but not forgotten! In a tremendous and heart-warming gesture, a monument has been erected on the grounds at Quitman High School to ensure that those tragically taken before their prime over the past 15 years will be remembered forever. The monument was dedicated by the QHS Senior Class of 2011.

Etched into the granite stone along with dates of birth and death are Victoria (Tori) Toms – 8th grade, Tyler Ledford – 12th grade, Dawson Tanner Perkins – 9th grade, Zachary James Harris – Teacher, Kassidy Jo Causey – 11th grade and Tucker James Wallis – 6th grade.

Another monument has also been erected that was dedicated by the QHS Senior Class of 2020. On this one Elizabeth “Lizzie” Grayce Gray,, who has been the most recent to pass away,  was memorialized.

  1. You left Tucker Wallis’ name out of your article. I assume it was an honest mistake, but his loved ones may have been hurt by the fact that he was missing. If possible, you should correct your error.
