Registration is being taken for the Jackson Parish STEM Camp that will be held on May 24th-26th. Any student enrolled in Jackson Parish schools during the 2021-22 academic school year and entering grades 6-12 qualify to apply. Class size is limited to the first 20 middle school and 20 high school students who apply. The purpose of this program is to spark, cultivate and promote interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
For students entering grades 6-8 classes will be held at the Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School under the instruction of Kristopher Cash and Jared Carpenter. The focus of the session will be building simple rockets and studying molecules.
Class for students entering grades 9-12 will be held at Jonesboro-Hodge High School under the direction of Christy Leonard and Genesis Williams. The focus will be on Robotics, Drones and Structural Engineering.
