A bevy of local youth enjoyed picking out what they wanted for Christmas this past Wednesday when they descended on Walmart in Jonesboro to take part in the annual “Shop with a Cop.” 

Members of the Jonesboro Police Department, Jonesboro Fire Department, Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Winnfield Police Department, Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District, Pinebelt Multi-Purpose Agency and other volunteers escorted the youth through the store. 

Thanks to the benevolence of these agencies participating children were allowed to purchase as many items as they wanted within the dollar amount that each was given making this year’s Christmas a very merry one.
