
Hayden Davis and Maddox Duck of Quitman High School finished in a tie for second place in the Northeast Louisiana High School Anglers (NELAHSA) “Top Ten” tournament fished on Bartholomew Lake in Sterlington.
The tourney that pitted the top ten teams from the 2023-24 NELASHA Tournament Trail Series was fished under a unique format in that the teams did not know where the tourney would take place until the morning of the event.
Davis and Duck, who finished in second place in the final series point standings, held their lofty position at “The Cutoff” by landing five fish for a total of 8.03 lbs. Finishing in 4th place was Landin Chatham (Weston High) and his partner Hunter VanBuren with five fish that weighed 7.19 pounds. The winner of the tourney was Zachary McMillan and Ethan Thrash who weighed ab 11.08 pound stringer of five fish.
