Boil Advisory for Customers of Chatham Water System Expected to End Soon

The Boil Advisory that the New Hope St. Clair customers of the Chatham Water System has been under since June 24th is expected to end soon. The good news was learned during a discussion about the situation with Chatham Mayor Gregory Harris on Tuesday, July 2nd.

“We have been told that everything has checked out and are expecting to receive official notice from the LDH any day now that we will be able to lift the Boil Advisory that is currently in place,” said Harris.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) issued the Boil Advisory for New Hope St. Clair Water customers residing on LA Hwy 146 from Chatham Lake Road to McConnell Road on June 24th when a pump failed at the New Hope booster station.

While Mayor Harris states that he is certain the Boil Advisory will be lifted soon, residents should still continue to take precautions to disinfect their water prior to consumption until being advised otherwise.
