Weston High School Senior Night

Weston 15 Doyline 0 (Monday): The Wolves completed a third straight undefeated regular season in District 1B play on the strength of the three seniors who were honored before the game. Drew Browning led the 16-hit offensive onslaught by getting three hits that included a double, driving in four runs, scoring three more, and stealing two bases, while also striking out 8 in the three-inning shutout. Colton Blundell, back in action following the recovery of a knee injury suffered earlier in the year, got two hits and knocked in 3 runs, while Beaux Oliver also collected two hits and scored two runs. Ty Henderson (2B, 3 RS, 2 RBI), Jase Borders (2B, 2 RS, 2 RBI, SB) and Dawson Griffin (RS) also collected two hits each while Easton Borders (2B, RS, RBI), Remy Kennard (2 RS, 2 RBI) and Kolt Keiffer (RBI) got a hit each as well.
Weston 10 Choudrant 0 (Tuesday): For the first time since 2022, the Wolves registered four shutouts in a row in the second-to-last regular-season contest to improve to 19-10 on the season and solidify their #3 ranking in the Class B power ratings. Colton Blundell (RS) and Ty Henderson (2 RBI) each hit a double, while Drew Browning (2 RBI), Easton Borders (RS, RBI), and Dawson Griffin (2 RS, 2 RBI, SB) all got a hit each. Liam Weaver also got a hit and earned the win by throwing five shutout innings. Beaux Oliver scored three runs after being walked and hit by a pitch twice, and Leyton Younse added a run.
Quitman High School Senior Night

Quitman 3 Simsboro 2 (Tuesday): In the battle for second place in the District 1B regular season standings, Tristan Newton got hit by a pitch, stole second, took third base on a passed ball and scored what would be the winning run on a Cail King sacrifice ground out in the bottom of the fourth inning after Quitman had spotted Simsboro a 2-1 lead early on. The victory improved the Wolverines to 4-1 in district play and 17-11 overall, while Simsboro fell to 2-2 and 20-8. Zach Smudricks singled and scored on a Asher Rhodes single to give Quitman a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, leading the Wolverines to tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the third when Maddox Duck singled, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Hudson Pullig’s ground out. Before the contest, Quitman High School alum and former major league baseball player Toby Borland threw out the first pitch.

Quitman 6 West Ouachita 1 (Tuesday): Anna Claire Leach hit her first-ever home run, and Maggie Guyotte smacked her team-leading 11th “round tripper” of the season, which increased her incredible QHS and Jackson Parish record to 60 home runs for her career. Sophomore sensation Brenna Lamkin knocked in a run and stole a base while also earning her 9th win of the season by striking out 11, limiting the West Ouachita to just two singles and allowing no earned runs. Avery Watson scored twice, and both Hallie Kate Pullig and Amelia Staggs scored a run and had an RBI.
St. Mary’s 15, Weston 0 (Tuesday): The 9th-ranked Division IV school among “select” schools limited Weston to a Gracie Gray double on the night that dropped the Lady Wolves’ record to 7-16 on the season.
