State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies continue to investigate the fire just in Eros that claimed the life of disabled, 63 year old, Alton Greer. Around 5:15 a.m. on December 27, the Ouachita Parish Fire Department responded to the call of a mobile home on fire that was located in the 200 block of Lottie Lane in Eros.

The responding Firefighters later located Greer’s body in what is believed to have been a hallway. Following an assessment of the scene, deputies determined the fire originated in one of the home’s bedrooms. The official cause of this fire remains undetermined at this time.
