The approval of four building permits and a fireworks display on Caney Lake was the primary business taken by the Jackson Parish Watershed District Board at the regularly monthly meeting that was held on March 18th at the Jackson Parish Sports Complex. The meeting began with Board members Lavelle Smith, Jimmy Waggoner and Kent Hightower welcoming Wesley Harvey as their newest member. Bert Brown, Roy Barlow and Daniel Ponder was absent.

The fireworks display on Caney Lake was then approved on Caney Lake with the stipulation that a $250.00, fully refundable, deposit be met. In a final action it was agreed to change the meeting place to “The Sunshine Room, 160 Industrial Drive, Jonesboro, LA 71251, beginning with the meeting scheduled for April 15, 2021 at 5:00pm.
