Walker finishes fourth, Culpepper 10th in “Front 9” Tournament at Bayou Desiard

Eli Walker of Quitman High carded an impressive round of four over par over the always demanding Bayou Desiard golf course in Monroe to finish fourth in the “Front 9 Tour tourney held on March 23rd. It was Walker’s highest finish of the year. Tayt Culpepper of Weston also had a successful trek over the layout that hosts the annual Cotton States Classic each year with a 43 that netted him a tenth place finish. 

Additional Quitman finishers were Noah Leach, who came in 20th, Peyton Simonelli – 27th, Ben Shows – 32nd, John Davis – 38th, Ethan Everett – 39th and Ty Roberts – 40th. Tyler Pardue from Weston came in 37th. In Junior Varsity competition Bailey Keys came in 8th place for Quitman.

Pullin Reeves of Ruston, grandson of former Quitman High Golf Coach, Ginger Pullin and Ross, was tournament medalist after a two over par, 38, round. Two more top seven finishes by Ruston led the Bearcats to a tie with Sterlington for the team title. Quitman finished in a tie with Neville four fourth overall.
