At the April 15th meeting of the Jackson Parish Watershed District,  held in the Sunshine Room of the JP Police Jury building, board members of Lavelle Smith, Jimmy Waggoner, Bert Brown, Roy Barlow and Daniel Ponder named Kent Hightower was named President for the upcoming year.  In additional action a building permit was awarded to Huey McAllister for a pier, boathouse and a launch as well as agreeing to get a price and delivery date for six large buoys to replace the five broken ones and allow for a spare. The next meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2021.
