Quitman earns bye in LHSAA softball playoffs, JHHS and Weston on road

On the strength of their #5 ranking in Class B, Quitman High School earned a first round bye in the LHSAA softball playoffs scheduled to begin on Monday, April 19th. Jonesboro-Hodge and Weston will open on the road against Winnfield and Pitkin respectively. 

The Lady Wolverines won district 2B in undefeated fashion and ended the season with a sterling 25-7 overall record. They await the winner of  #12 Oak Hill and #21 Monterey, who is scheduled to play on Monday. Tentative game time for the Quitman contest has been set for 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 20th at the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Complex located on Hwy 4 East just outside of Jonesboro. 

The Lady Wolves, who finished 3rd in district 2B and had a 9-17 overall record, is seeded #20 in the Class B bracket which garnered them a trip to #13 Pitkin, who has an 18-13 record . A victory there would earn them the right to play #4 seed Converse, also on the road. Jonesboro-Hodge got the #29 seed after a 1-20 season which pits them against long time rival Winnfield, who checks in at #4 in Class 2A after compiling an 18-9 record and a second place finish in district 3-2A.
