Jackson Parish Police Jury Cleanup Committee to meet Thursday

A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2020 at 12:00pm in the Sunshine Room of the Jackson Parish Police Jury Administrative Building located on 160 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro. The hearing has been called to allow Jackson Parish residents to obtain views on the housing and community development needs of Jackson Parish and to discuss the submission of an application for funding under the State of Louisiana FY 2022/2023 Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) Program.

Finance Committee Meeting: Immediately following the public hearing the JPPJ Finance Committee consisting of Chairman Tarneshala Cowans (District 5), Amy Magee (District 3)and John McCartney (District 4) will hold session to discuss the health insurance renewal, 2021 surplus items and a letter of request from the Judge’s office. Also to be entertained is a review of the budget, possible amendments and fund reviews. 

Cleanup Committee Meeting: The Jackson Parish Police Jury (JPPJ) Cleanup Committee will meet at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Charles H. Garrett Community Center located at 182 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro, LA. Headed by Chairman John McCartney, whose passion for the beautification of Jackson Parish spearheaded the effort to form this panel, District 5 and District 7 representative’s Tarneshala “Niki” Cowans and Lynn Treadway will discuss several items including getting the community involved, organizing cleanup teams, establishing boundaries and having a good will competition to award the area deemed to have been cleaned the best.
