Weston High pair earns top twenty finish in LHSAA state fishing tourney

Fresh off their victory in regional competition, Landin Chatham and Ben Ramsey of Weston High ventured to Cross Lake in Shreveport on April 17th to earn the best catch among Class B school competitors in the LHSAA state championship fishing tournament. Their catch of 13 pounds – 7 ounces put them in 20th place in the overall standings. 

The pair started the tournament in grand style by landing a stringer weighing 12 lbs / five oz’s that resulted with them being in 11th place overall heading into the final day. Hayden Davis and Caden Brown of Quitman came in 24th place overall and third best in Class B behind Colby and Maddox Williams of Saline. Noah and Mark Trant of Calvary Baptist was declared the LHSAA state champion with a 10 fish stringer catch of 33 pounds / 7 ounces.
