Reed Fletcher Stinson
November 07, 1959 – June 19, 2021
Mr. Reed Stinson, age 61 of Cascade, IA, died Saturday, June 19, 2021. Mr. Stinson was born in Shreveport, La. and he lived here in the Jonesboro area for many years. He was a talented iron fabricator and loved the outdoors with his dogs, hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished remote control airplane enthusiast. He spent time on the CB radio and his handle was Wa5ZVT and he spent many happy hours on the radio. Reed loved to spend time with the grandkids and he teased and played with them for hours. In addition to his abilities as a machinist he could work with numbers like magic.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Branda Stinson, Jamie Stinson, Erin Howard & Brian, Carrie (Stinson) Head & Clint, Tomas Stinson & Amy; stepson, Matt Lamkin; grandchildren, Austin Stinson, Saylor Ramas, Sebastian Guin, Eliza Guin, Baylee Caskey, Emma Guin, Bella Caskey, Bretlyn Howard, Lillie Head, Ayla Stinson, Bradley Howard; siblings, Judy Young, Kay Chung, David Stinson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his parents, David Fletcher & Sue (McBride) Stinson; wife, Rae Stinson.
Friends may visit with the family at the Southern-Edmonds Chapel from5:00pm ~ 8:00pm Sunday, June 27, 2020. Funeral services will be held at the chapel Monday at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Ansley Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
March 26, 1930 – June 21, 2021
Oleta Savage Haile was born March 26, 1930 in Weston, LA, and passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 in Ruston, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Savage; her husband, S. W. “Red” Haile; her son, Warren Blake Haile; and her siblings, Johnnie Ruth Reeves and John Wayland Savage.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Adams Jones and her husband, Bill; son, Rusty Haile and his wife Lisa; granddaughters, Nancy Adams Albin, her husband Sean, and their children Emory, Parker, and Ansley; and Maggie Adams Klein, her husband Matt , and their children Reed, Connor, and Quinn.
Oleta was a graduate of Weston High School and Louisiana Tech University. She was a career educator and was known by the many students whose lives she positively impacted as “Teacher Haile.” She was a sports enthusiast, both as a spectator and a participant. Basketball was her game in high school followed by semi-pro softball as a young woman and bowling and golf into her 70’s.
Oleta and Red were a great team, rearing and supporting their family, being successful in their careers, and enjoying life. They really were equal partners in their marriage, but on the dance floor, she loved to follow his lead. They were amazing to watch, and it brings us great joy to know they are reunited in Heaven.
The family would like to thank and commend the staff of Russ Place Assisted Living and Alpine Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 26th, at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, LA. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
Avis Inell Gaines
July 02, 1933 – June 21, 2021
Avis Inell Gaines, age 87 of Jonesboro, passed away from this life into her Heavenly home on June 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Livingston Gaines; her parents, Albert and Myrtis (Pate) Alexander; siblings, Doris Skains, Everett Alexander, RV Alexander, Wayne Donald Alexander, Ruby Alexander, Joyce Hall, Janice Alexander, Era Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Duncan Gaines (Anne), Mark Livingston Gaines (Pam); grandchildren, Duncan Armentor (Jacqui), Andrew L. Gaines (Meghan), Anthony Gaines, Tabbitha Brown (Josh), Tiffany Brown; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, John Alexander (Nelda), Linda Evans.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Bro. Bobby White officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
