Jackson Parish Tourism Board member Tammy Gunter presented the website she has developed (www.VisitJacksonParish.com) to Christie Weeks (Chairperson), Dawn Slezak, Joyce Amos Smith, Denise Barlow and Kelly Spangler during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting that was held this past Tuesday, July 20th. Catherine Bowden was absent.
In other action taken in the Sunshine Room of the Jackson Parish Police Jury Administration Building a stipend in the amount of $500.00 was agreed upon for the upcoming 2021 Art Contest judges. It was also agreed to create a Facebook Boost fund of $250.00.
Additional discussion centered on sending someone to the LA Tourism Conference and how to encourage tourism from those outside parish entities asking for funding. The idea of hosting a Concert in the Park in October was then bantered about with the result being that a budget of $3000.00 be agreed on.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th.
