You think there are some talented students in Jackson Parish? You better believe it! Last week it was reported that Weston High School student Mattie Beaubeouf placed in three categories at the national BETA convention held at Disney World in Florida.
As it turns out, there was also another young lady from Jackson Parish who placed as Zoie Anderson of Jonesboro-Hodge High School placed 4th for her entry in the specialized art contest. To put it into perspective, there were over 20,000 contestants entered in the various groups from all over the nation and our small, rural parish had TWO students come home with honors. Congratulations to both and to the faculty and staff at both schools for helping them prepare.
