Public Hearing held on planned Senior living development

The Jackson Parish Planning Commission held a Public Hearing last week in regard to a planned Senior living development to be located in Jonesboro. The meeting was held to allow the public to voice opinions on the proposal to change the zoning of Industrial Drive in Jonesboro from business to both business and residential.

Chairman Alvin Jones opened the session by informing those in attendance and commission members David Hammock, Henry Bradley, Sam Lamkin and Danettia Hayes that the proposed 17 acre development was contingent on the location being approved for the zoning change.

The development that is to be constructed on the property owned by Randy McLean is to be puchased by Ciera Development Company out of Houma, LA. Housing units for residents aged 60 and above are slated to be two bedroom homes in a gated community.
