Elizabeth Womack inducted into the Metro Knoxville Cross Country Hall of Fame

Quitman resident, Elizabeth Womack, enjoyed recognition from her days at Farragut, TN high school this past week when she and her 1984 state title team was inducted into the Metro Knoxville Cross Country Hall of Fame.

Elizabeth (Goeser), wife of Chris Womack, earned All KIL (Knoxville Interscholastic League) honorable mention honors as a freshman at Farragut that year after coming in second during a regular season meet and earning top twenty placements in the KIL league and regional meets. She also ran her best time of the year at the Tennessee State Championships, all of which the Farragut team won. amanda hall of fame plaque

As her husband found out while touring the area, running cross country in Tennessee is much different than in the state of Louisiana. 

“Elizabeth showed me one of the courses that she said had hills,” said Chris  “We call them mountains in North Louisiana!”

Farragut High School has a rich corss country tradition in the state of Tennessee. Over the years Farragut has had 29 All-State Boys runners, 37 All-State Girls runners, 3 Boys Team State Championships and 4 Girls Team State Championships, including last years state runner-up team.
