When you mention the basketball player by the nickname “Poppa” in Jackson Parish, everyone knows who you are referring to. You can now add those in Lincoln Parish and all others who come to support the Louisiana Tech Bulldog mens basketball team. The reason is that 2017 JHHS graduate, Ladamien Bradford’s play has been so good that he is becoming a household name when speaking of the 2021 Dunkin Dogs.
Each and every week in his first season at Tech after transferring from Texas A&M, Bradford seemingly improves as he gets more and more comfortable with his new teammates and the Tech offense. On Tuesday he had his best night yet as he made 7 points, dished out a team leading 7 dimes and grabbed 5 rebounds to help pace Tech to a 84-70 victory over LSU-Shreveport.
This all in just 19 minutes of play, which is about what he now averages per game after never getting in more than 17 minutes in the first five games of the year. To make matters more impressive, Bradford hit all three of his shots on Tuesday to continue an incredible field goal accuracy streak of 14 of his last 15 shots that includes three for three from behind the arc.
Bradford and the Bulldogs, now 8-2 on the year, will get a chance at the flagship school in the state this Saturday, December 18th when they take on undefeated (10-0) and #19 ranked LSU in the “Battle in Bossier City.” Tipoff is set for 6pm. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
