Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church recently shared their love and Christmas cheer with care gifts
assembled and delivered for 133 residents at Forest Haven Nursing and Rehab Center.
Many of the residents are far from home with no family or friends, said Pastor Reginald Staten. They see
others getting gifts from loved ones and this increases the depression and loneliness they feel, and so
many others, at this time of year.
“We wanted to make these seniors at Forest Haven feel loved and not feel like they have been
forgotten,” Staten said.
Outreach ministry is of major importance in the agenda of our church, not just at Christmas, but
throughout the year. Before the pandemic, we made regular visits to Forest Haven conducting worship
services, talking and mingling with residents.
Despite all the restrictions caused by the pandemic, we hope and pray that our expression of love will
brighten the holiday season for seniors living at Forest Haven, Staten said.
