His incredible display of marksmanship last week earned Freshman guard Gavin Caskey local acclaim. Quitman’s new secret weapon is a secret no longer. This is because this past Wednesday, KNOE-TV, Channel 8, sports director Aaron Deitrich opened the evening sports segment with a feature on the new school record setter and Jackson Parish co-holder of most three pointers in a contest.
Caskey, a reserve guard for Quitman High, was introduced to followers of prep boys basketball after leading the Wolverines to victory by scoring a new career high 30 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the three-point line. His performance broke the QHS record for three pointers in a game and tied the mark set by Alex Wyatt of Weston in 2017.
