For the second year in a row the Jonesboro-Hodge boys basketball team will play in a special playoff game to determine the winner of the district 1-2A title. The Tigers will play North Caddo at 6:00 pm on Thursday at Lakeside High School, located in Sibley. The special playoff game was required after Jonesboro-Hodge beat North Caddo 69-61 this past Friday in Vivian to offset the 67-55 home loss to the Titans back on January 28th.
The contest is not only important in crowning the district champion but has possible serious ramifications for JHHS in the power ratings that determine the seedings of the upcoming LHSAA playoffs. Currently the Tigers are ranked #7 in Class AA. A loss would certainly cause JHHS to drop but a victory could elevate the Tigers standings as the winner of a district is granted a full extra point.
