Beautification of Jonesboro Project continues with control burn of abandoned house

The effort could be best described as “killing two birds with one stone.” What is being referred to is the burning of an abandoned and dilapidated house that used to occupy 112 Cooper Avenue in Jonesboro by the Jonesboro Fire Department.

The control burn served two purposes. One being a continued effort of the ongoing Town of Jonesboro Beautification Project where unsightly and possibly dangerous structures are brought down in order that the town will be more pleasing to the eye and safer. The other is a perfect opportunity to provide training for the Jonesboro Fire Department in a non-emergency atmosphere.
