PUBLIC NOTICE

The Jackson Parish Police Jury is accepting applications for the position of Secretary-Treasurer.

Applicants must be knowledgeable and proficient in performing all accounting functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, preparation of consolidated budgets, and responsible for compliance with procedures and policies under the jurisdiction of the Louisiana Legislative Auditor. The Secretary-Treasurer is required to attend all official Police Jury and committee meetings, is responsible for preparing the official minutes of all meetings for publication and adoption and is responsible for all correspondence conducted on behalf of the Jackson Parish Police Jury.

Minimum Requirements:
Four (4) year college degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA certification preferred; five (5) years direct experience in management and supervision; advanced computer and data processing skills with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite required; proficient in training staff; must be a resident of Jackson Parish or be willing to re-locate.

Jackson Parish Police Jury Special Meeting Minutes
February 28, 2022

The Jackson Parish Police Jury met in Special Session, Monday, February 28, 2022, at 12:00 PM in the Nathanial Zeno Jr. Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Police Jury Administrative Building, 160 Industrial Drive, Jonesboro, Louisiana. Members present: Mr. Todd Culpepper, Mr. John McCarty, Ms. Regina Rowe, and Mr. Lynn Treadway. Absent: Mr. Lewis Chatham, Ms. Amy Magee, and Ms. Tarneshala Cowans. Also present, Mr. Brad Roller, Operations Manager.
The President called the meeting to order. Mr. McCarty gave the invocation and Ms. Rowe led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were no public comments.
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Mr. Culpepper to amend the agenda to include discussion and possible action on set up pay schedule in the absence of the Road Superintendent. Motion carried
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Mr. McCarty to authorize vegetation spraying for one pass on gravel roads only. Motion carried.
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Mr. Culpepper to add Brad Roller, Operations Manager to the bank signature cards. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Culpepper, seconded Ms. Rowe to approve temporary set up pay for Administration and Operations until which time there is a candidate hired to replace the position of Parish Administrator. Motion Carried.
Motion Mr. Culpepper, seconded Mr. McCarty to approve rate of set up pay for acting Superintendent in
accordance with the Jackson Parish Police Jury set up pay policy. Motion carried.
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Mr. Culpepper to adjourn. Motion carried.

February 18, 2020

The Jackson Parish Police Jury met in Special Session, Friday, February 18, 2022, at 12:00 PM in the Nathanial Zeno Jr. Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Police Jury Administrative Building, 160 Industrial Drive, Jonesboro, Louisiana. Members present: Mr. Todd Culpepper, Ms. Amy Magee, Ms. Regina Rowe, and Mr. Lynn Treadway. Absent: Mr. Lewis Chatham, Mr. John McCarty, and Ms. Tarneshala Cowans. Also present, Mr. Brad Roller, Operations Manager.
The President called the meeting to order. Mr. Culpepper gave the invocation and Ms. Magee led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion Mr. Treadway, seconded Ms. Magee to amend the agenda to include discussion and possible action on the Road Committee recommendations. Motion failed due to Mr. Culpepper voting “Nay.”
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Ms. Magee to authorize the publication of the notice of vacancy for the SecretaryTreasurer position. Motion carried.
Motion Ms. Rowe, seconded Mr. Culpepper to adjourn. Motion carried.

THE JACKSON PARISH MUSEUM & FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
February 21, 2022

Barbara Johnson, President called the meeting to order at 4 PM on Monday, February 21st.
Roll Call by Wilda Smith: Present:  Melinda Garrett, Mary Hoover, Barbara Johnson Mark Culpepper, James Fitzpatrick, Wilda Smith. Absent: Ben Ledbetter.
The prayer was offered by James Fitzpatrick the pledge by Mark Culpepper.
No public comments.
Motion Mark Culpepper second James Fitzpatrick approving the minutes. Motion carried.
Motion Mary Hoover second Mark Culpepper approving the financial and the payment of bills. Motion carried.
President’s Report:
A tour bus will be visiting the museum on April 20th at 2:30 PM. She also asked if anyone knew Lawrence Caesar that she needed some information to put with a coat that we have that belonged to him. She discussed the work schedule for the following six weeks.
Old Business:
We met with Ronnie Madere today for the placement of the new sign.
We haven’t had any problems with the heating unit since the last meeting.
We had a termite inspection at which time she was told that there were no active termites.
Wilda had asked the question relative to who paid the insurance. Gina Thomas provided information that the Police Jury pays the insurance, water and sewage.
New business
Barbara asks the opinion of everyone relative to the possibility of us getting some quotes on landscaping, everyone was in agreement. We would get quotes before the next meeting then decide if we wanted to move forward.
Motion James Fitzpatrick second Melinda Garrett that we spend upwards to $150 for some   type of gifts with our info to give to visitors on the tour bus. Motion carried.
Motion Mary Hoover second Wilda Smith that we design a flyer to be placed in the businesses and library. Also, to design a flyer that we could send to the different churches. Motion carried.
Discussion was relative to us having a glass door for the porch side, stones to fill an area where water is dripping from the roof, caulking to go around the front door, cover the door jamb to prevent air from coming in, sign to indicate entrance to Museum. Wilda and Barbara will go shopping and get prices on all the above and then asked for an approval.
Motion James Fitzpatrick second but Mary Hoover to adjourn.
