We live in a world where there are plenty of ways for people to get their groceries. There is literally almost no reason to leave the home as you can hit up basically any store online and pick out the items you want and have them delivered to your home.
Now there is good news for EBT Cardholders in Louisiana because you can now buy groceries online. The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services has recently announced that households in Louisiana who are receiving SNAP benefits can now order all of their groceries online at Walmart stores throughout Louisiana. While Walmart is the first grocery chain to be approved, officials with DCFS are eager that other retailers will follow suit.
SNAP recipients are also eligible for delivery from stores that offer those services. There will be additional fees for delivery and those fees are not paid for through SNAP benefits. Before providing online purchasing services, all EBT retailers must be approved by the USDA FNS. You can find out more information by visiting fns.usda.gov for more details.
