The Town of Jonesboro Board of Aldermen is expecting to share mostly good news at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting this Tuesday, with one exception. That being the resignation of Kenneth Folden and Associates from helping the town with their finances. moving forward.
The meeting of Aldermen Devin Flowers, Robbie Siadek, Pete Stringer, James Ginn and Nia Evans-Johnson will take place at 6:00pm at the Charles Garrett Community Center, located at 182 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro.
It is no secret that the Town of Jonesboro has been plagued with financial problems for several years and is still at a critical point in dealing with the state of Louisiana’s Legislative Auditor’s Office (LAO). Thanks to the diligent effort provided by Folden and his staff the town has been able to avoid severe ramifications.
Going well above and beyond the call of duty, including working without getting full pay for several months, the firm of Folden and Associates helped keep auditors at bay. It was their precise accounting and timely reporting of the town’s revenues and expenses as well as providing responses required by the LAO that has been responsible for the town to still be in position to manage its own affairs.
Additional agenda items to be considered is the Introduction of Ordinance 2022-002 which involves the Redistricting of the Board of Aldermen Districts, a synopsis by town engineer Brad Graff of ARPA funded projects, update on the Phil Street water line replacement project and zoning recommendations.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) if you need special accommodations, you are asked to contact Town Hall prior to the meeting so any necessary arrangements can be made.
