Clarence “Butch” Goss
September 25, 1946 – April 6, 2022

gossFuneral services for Clarence “Butch” Goss, age 75 of Jonesboro, LA were held on, Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Centerpoint Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

“Butch” worked at the Hodge Mill for over twenty years, then became road crew supervisor for the State Highway Department for over ten years before retiring for health reasons. He was a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church and faithfully attended until his health began to fail. He loved fishing and going out in the woods sitting with a gun.

When he was younger, he loved to listen to his hounds run. “Butch” also enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family especially, his grandkids who were affectionately known as “Punkin”. “Butch” was preceded in death by his parents: Udean and Earlene Goss; brother, Danny Joe Goss; sister, Elizabeth Rushing; daughter-in-law, April Huber Goss; grandson, Andrew Goss; and step-son, Charles Edward “Eddie” Hendry.

“Butch” is survived by his wife of fifty years, Lavelle Peevy Goss of Jonesboro, LA; son, Jeffrey LaDean Goss of Odessa, TX; granddaughters: Erin McKenzie Walker, Kirah Christine Goss and Lorelai Reyanne Goss all of Odessa, TX; grandson, Jeffrey Beaudean Goss; brother, Tom and wife, Judy Goss of Quitman, LA; sister, Delores Goss of Quitman, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers was Chad Caskey, Sean Caskey, Matt Caskey, D.J. Goss, Derek Goss and Casey Goss.

Robert Ray “Robby” Roberts, Jr.
June 18, 1958 – April 7, 2022

robertsFuneral Services for Robert Ray “Robby” Roberts, Jr., 63, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Mark Yates officiating. Interment will be in Clark Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Roberts was born June 18, 1958, in Monroe, LA, and passed away April 7, 2022, at his home in West Monroe, LA. He was an avid deer hunter, who enjoyed weekends at the camp with friends and family. Robby loved to cook his special bambie bites, crawfish, and anything that would put a smile on everyone’s face. Riding horses has always been a big part of his life. He and his friends even started Trailriders, Inc. in the early 80’s. In his most recent years, Robby loved working in his garden that he shared with family and friends.

He worked for Brown Paper Mill, St. Francis Medical Center, Jackson Parish Hospital, Homeland Security, and Vanguard. During these employments, he had gained a lot of friends.

He was the backbone of our family, and we will miss him dearly every day.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ray Roberts; mother, Elizabeth Delores Wooten; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Webb O. Roberts, and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wooten; and nephew, Michael Tanner, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Michelle Roberts, Jamie Roberts, and Rob Roberts; stepdaughters, Brooklynn Cummings and Maeghan Woods; grandchildren, Owen, Wyatt and Haevyn Cummings, and Carson and Kado Woods; sister, Pauline Tanner; aunt and uncles, Helen Roberts Johnston (Charles), Webb Gerald Roberts, and Barber Studer (Aunt Ban); niece, Rene Tanner; and nephews, Ryan Riggin and Drew Riggin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Scottie Taylor, Billy Almond, James Searcy, Chad Atkins, and Kenneth Brown.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 11, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
