
Classroom teaching is a vital part of a child’s education but there is more to learning than just being taught how to read, write and do arithmetic. Recently, the first graders at Quitman High School received a demonstration of how a fun experience away from the school grounds can also be educational.
Seventeen lucky youngsters enjoyed a wonderful time when they took a field trip to Safari Park in Epps, LA. While there they got to see up close, many for the first time in their lives, exotic animals from all over the world such as zebras, antelopes, giraffes and water buffalos. They also got a chance to pet, feed and cuddle with offspring from the wild as well as traditional farm animals.
