The Board of the Jackson Parish Museum and Fine Arts Association held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, May 16th highlighted by the receiving of an American Flag and Vacuum from Woodman Chapter 115.
Representing the Woodman Chapter was Mary Borland, Raymond Borland, Grag Aranda, Brennon Aranda and Bryceton Aranda who presented JPM board members James Fitzpatrick, Barbara Johnson, Wilda Smith, Mary Hoover, Melinda Garrett and Ben Ledbetter with the generous donations.
In additional action taken the board approved the minutes, financial and payment of monthly bills and President Johnson gave a report regarding the visitors from Minnesota that toured the Museum and the television special done by Rick Rowe of Channel 3 in Shreveport.
It was also agreed that board members would speak to officials from the parish schools about organizing tours of the Museum when schools take back in this fall. The meeting drew to a close following discussion about getting volunteers from the community to help open the Museum on Saturdays so the public would have the opportunity to tour. The next meeting is slated for Monday, June 20th.
