Jackson Parish Library Board Regular Board Meeting Minutes
May 31, 2022

The Jackson Parish Library Board of Control met on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at the
Jonesboro Branch of the Jackson Parish Library for the regular monthly board meeting. The
meeting was called to order by Mrs. Massey, Board President. Members present: Mrs. Essmeier,
Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Nunn, Mrs. Standley, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mrs. Massey. Also present was
Floyd Knox and Judy Robertson. Members absent: Mr. Chatham
Mrs. Jenkins led the invocation.
There being no public comments, the Board proceeded with the proposed Agenda.
Mrs. Essmeier made the motion to approve the minutes for the April 18, 2022 regular board
meeting. Mrs. Nunn seconded. All yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Cooper made the motion to accept the April financial reports. Mrs. Standley seconded. All
yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Standley made the motion to accept the April statistical reports. Mrs. Cooper seconded.
All yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Cooper made the motion to hire two part time workers through the Pre-Employment
Transition Service program for the summer. Mrs. Standley seconded. All yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Massey made the motion to join the Green Gold Library System. Mrs. Nunn seconded. All
yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Nunn made the motion to authorize the Library Director and two bookmobile staff
members to attend the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services conference in
Scottsdale, AZ on October 4-6, 2022. Mrs. Jenkins seconded. All yes. Motion carried.
The Library Director updated the Board on the current projects.
Mrs. Cooper made the motion to approve change order #2 for the renovations at the Chatham
branch. Mrs. Standley seconded. All yes. Motion carried.
Mrs. Cooper made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Mrs. Standley seconded. All yes. Motion
carried.

WARD 3 FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
June 6, 2022

The Ward 3 Fire Protection District met for its regular meeting Monday, June 6th @ 6 p.m. at the Chatham Fire Station Training room.
The meeting was called to order by Freddy Tolar. Opening prayer was given by Wayne Whitman.
The following members were present- Freddy Tolar, Mayor Greg Harris, Wayne Whitman, James Mixon and Margaret Waggoner. Also attending was Ward 3 Fire Chief Danny Peel.
Time for public comments was open. There were no comments.
The minutes from the last meeting were presented and a motion was made to accept the minutes as printed by Waggoner and 2nd by Whitman. All were in favor.
A motion was made by Waggoner and 2nd by Harris to approve financial report as presented and approve expenditures since last meeting. All were in favor.
Fire Chief Peel gave a fire incident summary and general discussion.
Old business:
1-Presented update on hose, hydrant testing maintenance
2-Fire t-shirts have been ordered
3-Construction has begun on training building
4-Update on driveway for new storage building
New business:
1-Chatham 12 is in shop for repairs on hose reel and pressure regulator
2-Project in town discussed
3-Inquiries for replacement turnout gear.
Being no further business, a motion was made by Harris and 2nd by Mixon to adjourn meeting. All were in favor.

Village of Hodge Town Hall Meeting Minutes
May 3, 2022

The regular of the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Hodge at the Hodge Town Hall on May 3, 2022 at 5:00p.m.
Present: Willard Willis – Mayor Pro-Tem, Gerald Palmer-Mayor, Travis Reed-Police Chief,
Absent:  Wayne Buchan-Aldermen, Michael Heard- Fire Chief
Visitors: Residents
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gerald Palmer and Rosie Hayes  gave the invocation.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Gerald Palmer.
Motion was made by Steve Fox seconded by Willard Willis to approve the  agenda. Motion carried. All in favor.
Motion was made by Steve Fox seconded by Willard Willis to approve the monthly minutes for April 2022. Motion carried. All in favor.
Motion was made by Steve Fox  seconded by Willard Willis to approve the monthly bills for April 2022. Motion carried. All in favor.
The Board of Alderman was given a copy of the Budget vs Actual Report the month of April 2022.Motion carried. All in favor.
 Discussion was made by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen  to declare the 2001 Ford Truck (1-ton ) surplus.
Sealed bids will be taken for the sale of the truck.  Motion was made by Willard Willis and seconded by Steve Fox to approve the sale of the truck. Motion carried. All in favor.
There was not a monthly report from the Fire Chief Michael Heard due to being absent.
Chief Travis Reed gave the monthly report for the police for the  month of April 2022.  There was 48 citation wrote with 53 violations, 2 arrests made.
Motion was made by Steve Fox seconded by Willard Willis to adjourn. Motion carried. All in favor.

Village of Hodge Town Hall Meeting Minutes
May 31, 2022

A call meeting was held on May 31, 2022, at the Village of Hodge Town Hall at 5:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gerald Palmer.
Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Gerald Palmer
Invocation was given by Zelphia Schmidt.
The Mayor introduced a Resolution to appoint Martha Buchan to serve the remainder of Aldermen Wayne Buchan term due to his death.
Motion was made by Willard Willis seconded by Steve Fox to approve Resolution # 218. Motion carried. All in favor.
