Beautification of Jonesboro Project moves to Mitchell Street

The Jonesboro Fire Department got “twice as nice” training recently when they control burned two structures at the same time on Mitchell Street in Jonesboro. As part of the continuing Beautification of Jonesboro Project, the effort served dual purposes as not only were two more dilapidated and unsightly structures burned, it marked the first time that the Fire Department got to work on two burning buildings at the same time. 

“I would like to offer congratulations to our Fire Department for their success in handling this unique situation,” said Jonesboro Fire Chief Brandon Brown. “By burning both structures at the same time our fire fighters took another successful step in their training.”

As part of the project designed to rid the town of unsafe buildings and structures as well as improve the asthetics of the town the Fire Department has already burned at least a dozen structures and have more on the schedule.
