Betty Jean Vines
November 21, 1944 – July 3, 2022
Ms. Betty Jean Vines of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 after a brief illness. She had recently rededicated her life to Christ. Ms. Vines worked many years as a custodian at the Isle of Capri Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was an avid collector of figurines but especially enjoyed collecting elephant figurines. Ms. Vines loved taking trips to visit her sister, Shirley A. Wilkerson in Panama City, Florida.
Ms. Vines is survived by her sister, Shirley A. Wilkerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Houston Wilkerson; mother, Willie Maude (Grishom) Wilkerson; brothers, Johnny Wilkerson, Gene Wilkerson; sisters, Pearlane Bedgood, Vera Deese, Nancy Aymond, Mary Ann Carpenter, Billie Jo Wilkerson (infant).
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Southern/Edmonds Chapel in Jonesboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Quitman, under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Terry Wilkerson, Tim Wilkerson, Teddy Wilkerson, Dale Wilkerson, Mark Wilkerson, Ronnie Flack. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Barfield, D.J. Barfield, Tommy Womack.
