Eva Vernell (Sis) Watts
June 17, 1933 – July 5, 2022

wattsEva Vernell (Sis) Watts, formerly of Weston, passed away at Briarcliff Health Center in Tyler, TX on July 5, 2022.  Mrs. Watts moved to Tyler with her husband, Lehman in 2018 so they could be near their children, Dennis and Karen.  Mr. Watts passed away in 2019.

Sis, as she was known to most, worked as Lehman’s secretary in their television sales and repair business for many years. After they closed up shop, Sis and Lehman worked the next twenty-three years on their farm operating a successful poultry business.  They both loved sitting on their back deck looking over their fifty acre farm. During basketball season, Sis and Lehman could often be found in the Weston High School Gymnasium watching the Wolves and Lady Wolves play.  They enjoyed taking short trips together on the weekends when time allowed.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Dennis Alan Watts and Sharon; daughter, Karen (Watts) Willis and Jack; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three sisters-in law; one brother-in-law.

Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Lehman Delano Watts; father, Smith Clarence Savage; mother, Eva Alley (Holsomback) Savage; brothers, William, Verlon, and Jack Savage.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July14, 2022 from 11 AM until 12 Noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Weston.  The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon.  Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church.
