
Featuring two budding girls basketball stars from Jackson Parish and another from Saline who has already established hrself, the LA Elite AAU team hopes a return trip to Conway, AR this weekend is as productive as the first. Earlier this summer LA Elite verntured to Conway and came away with the champoionship of the annual Toadsuck Tourney. The stakes will be higher and there promises to be more competitors this time around when play begins on Friday at the prestigious Hoopplay USA 2022 National Tournament.
The local contingent of Emma Kate McBride, Brayli Stewart and Georgia Robinson has been instrumental to the success of the team this summer. McBride of Weston and Grillette of Quitman both who are expected to be major contributors for their respective high school teams, tallied 42 and 33 points respectively to finish one-two in scoring in the Pre-National’s Tune Up held in Dallas, TX where the team won two and lost two. Earlier in the summer Robinson, who graduated Saline High as a first team all district player and winner of the northwest Louisiana Three Point Shooting Championship, led all scorers to help LA Elite win the tournament in their first venture to Conway.
