On Friday, July 8th, Cub Scout Pack 523 of Jonesboro helped the Jackson Parish Library install the posts for the new Chatham Branch Storybook Walk. In total there were four Scouts, two parents, and 3 Leader volunteers that helped dig holes, measure and level post, then add concrete and water to secure them in the ground.
“The Scouts have helped in 1000’s of community projects over the past 112 years and we couldn’t be happier about being a part of this one for our very own parish,” said Pack 523 Committee Chairman Brian Hurt. “Projects like this are what we are really proud of. It’s something they can look back on with pride, knowing they helped build that while in Cub Scouts.”
Hurt and the members of Jonesboro Cub Scout Pack 523 extend their appreciation to the Jackson Parish Library for allowing them to be of assistance with this special project.
