On Thursday, October 13, 2022, the Chatham Water System announced that its Jackson Parish customers are under a boil advisory. According to officials, the boil advisory is due to a break in the 6″ main line resulting in low to no water pressure. The boil advisory will continue to further notice, according to Chatham Mayor Greg Harris.
When local health officials issue a boil water advisory it means your community’s water has, or could have, germs that can make you sick. While under an advisory you should use bottled water or boil tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
