Weston Jr. High baseball sweeps Calvin

Weston Jr. High continued their fall season baseball success by sweeping Calvin 3-2 and 8-1 to run their record to 3-0-1 on the year. Prior WJH beat Downsville and tied with Quitman. In game one Deuce Waters hit a single to score Colton Otwell in the second inning to break a 2-2 tie. Leyton Younse, who was the winning pitcher after coming in relief, helped his cause at the plate as well by driving in Bryce Tolar and Ty Henderson in the first to tie the game at 2-2.

In game two Weston exploded for five runs in the first inning and never looked back as Ty Henderson, who had three doubles in the two games, struck out 11, including 10 batters in a row, to keep Calvin at bay. Waters, Tolar and Henderson all scored two runs each while Younse and Kytin Caskey added a run each.
