Important discussions await Jackson Parish Police Jury Road Committee

The three members that make up the Jackson Parish Police Jury (JPPJ) Road Committee, Chairperson Amy Magee, Lewis Chatham, and Lynn Treadway, have some important decisions to make. In what is probably the most important committee meeting they have held this calendar year, on Tuesday, December 6th, the three will discuss the 2023 Maintenance Plan and Road Program. The session will take place at 4:30 pm in the Nathanial Zeno Jr. Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Administrative Building, located at 160 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro.

In addition, the prioritizing of projects will be discussed as well as deciding if they want to recommend the JPPJ retain Riley Company of LA as the Parish Engineer for the 2023 Road Program. The purchase of a new Brush Axe and the renewal of various equipment leases finalize the stacked agenda.

While a quorum of the Police Jury may be at the meeting, it is to be noted that no action of the Police Jury will be taken. All recommendations made by the Road Committee will be brought to the attention of the entire Police Jury for action at the next regularly scheduled meeting that is held on December 20th.
