Weston splits with Choudrant at Homecoming

Emma Kate McBride took off her crown as Homecoming Queen and put on her cape as the superhero of the night as she scored 23 points to lift WHS to the victory over Choudrant. Anslee Aldy and Jessica Newton also came up big with Aldy scoring 10 points and snaring 7 rebounds while Newton pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds while adding 8 points. Briley Peterson (8 rbs) and Lainee Trosclair chipped in with 9 and 8 points respectively, Faith Beamesderfer added three and Tailan Bearden and Raelynn Shell hit a free throw each. By scoring over 60 points for the sixth time this season but for the first time in the last 8 contests, the Lady Wolves improved to 12-2 on the season.

Choudrant 69 Weston 51 (boys)

Bryce Zehr poured in 20 points and Mitchell Mathews added 16 but no other players scored more than five points resulting in Choudrant racing to a 36 -14 halftime lead and making it hold up. With the loss, Weston drops to 3-8 in the young season. La’Javion Harris added five points, Nathan Wages and Garrett Nickorz scored three each, and both Jude Otwell and Ja’Michael Fourd with two.
