With the calendar turning to 2023 you can’t help but be excited and curious about what the new year will bring. One thing that Jonesboro residents won’t have to bring is their water to a boil anymore. Per a statement issued by the administration of the Town of Jonesboro on Friday afternoon, the Boil Advisory for the Jonesboro water system has been under since this past Tuesday has been lifted.
The boil notice was placed into effect due to multiple breaks in public and private water lines served by the Town of Jonesboro Water System early last week caused by the frigid cold front dropped temperatures below freezing for several days.
“I am pleased to report that we have received notice from the LA Dept. of Health that all of our samples submitted have been cleared and our water is once again safe for consumption,” said Jonesboro Public Works Director Calvin Wortham. “I am appreciative of our employees for their fast and effective work and also thank our residents for being patient with us while we rectified this situation.”
