LDWF offers course in catching Rainbow Trout

The annual Get Out and Fish Series sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is quickly approaching. This year a chance to catch Rainbow Trout has been added to the lineup. In order to give Louisiana anglers an improved chance at landing this game fish, unique to Sportsman Paradise residents, LDWF biologists will be at two area locations on January 14th to teach what is best tactics, tackle and bait to successfully reel in your own rainbow.

The first course that will be taught that Saturday will run from 9-11am at Grambling City Park with the second being from 2-4pm at Elmore D. Mayfield Park in Ruston. For those who don’t have trout fishing gear, rods and reels along with tackle and bait will be provided. A Louisiana fishing license is mandatory for participants 18 years and older.
