JHHS to host Ruston on Friday

Local prep basketball fans get one chance to see a contest the rest of the week that will be played in Jackson Parish. The best part for those who like to watch high school basketball is that the team coming in is the second rated team in the highest classification of the LHSAA. Another teaser is the coach of that team is a Jackson Parish native. As a final incentive to attend you will get to watch the two coacheswho have won more games than anyone else in Jackson Parish in the new millenia will square off.

This Friday, Jonesboro-Hodge plays host to Ruston, the second ranked team among Division 1 schools, matching up Ryan Bond, who coached for over a decade at Weston High School and longtime JHHS head coach Allen Tew. The Tigers get a tuneup before the friendly rivalry when JHHS goes to Richwood on Thursday. Ironically that contest features another local by product that will be coaching in longtime Rams coach Terry Martin who prepped at Shady Grove High School. Girls games are also scheduled on both dates.

All other local schools will be on the road for their games with Weston first traveling to Atlanta on Thursday and then heading to Ouachita Christian on Friday. Saline heads to Cedar Creek and Quitman wins the long travel award by treking to Pitkin on Friday as well for girls and boys contests.
