A Memorial Service for Sylvia Rockhold Hudson, 76, was held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in DeBerry, Texas. Officiating the service was Pastor Kevin Moore.
Sylvia was born on June 23, 1946, in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Jack L. Rockhold and Jean Browne Rockhold and passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Sylvia was a resident of Bethany, Louisiana, and worked in the financial industry as a loan supervisor. She loved traveling with her friends, Mardi Gras, and football, particularly the Saints and LSU. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends meant the world to her as well as her four-legged family member, Sadie.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert (Bob) Hudson; sons, Robert (Rusty) Hudson and Randall Hudson; daughter, Rhonda Hudson Crow; grandson, Wesley Davenport; and brother, Jack Rockhold. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ralph Hudson and wife, Renee’; Cliff Hudson and wife, Glennie; and Gregg Hudson and wife, Angie; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Tony Rockhold, and wife, Sherri; nephew, Nathan Rockhold; and her furbaby, Sadie.
Jerry Lynn Lester
August 8, 1950 – December 29, 2022
Jerry Lynn Lester, age 72 of Jonesboro, passed away on December 29, 2022. Mr. Jerry will be remembered by many for being a hard worker for the town of Jonesboro. He retired after 29 years of employment. He loved his pets and enjoyed their company. He also loved to cheer on and watch sports of all varieties.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Shirley Keith (Shelby), Barbara Lester, Judy Lester, and Tammy Ashby (Pete); special friend, Polly Griffith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessy Lester; parents, Otto and Adell (Hawkins) Lester.
