
The Jackson Parish School Board has adopted a Resolution ordering and calling for an election to be held on April 29, 2023 in Consolidated School District No. 1 of the Parish of Jackson to authorize the continuation of an ad valorem tax. The action took place in the inaugural regularly scheduled meeting of 2023 that was held on Monday, January 9th.
Board members Calvin Waggoner, Dennis Clary, Paulette Belton, Rick Barlow, Gerry Mims, Mary Saulters and Wade McBride also appointed Kristi Bass to serve on the Jackson Parish Sales Tax Board and approved the 2022-2023 Pupil Progression Plan Addendum.
The following Executive/Finance and Building/Grounds Committee recommendations were also approved.
(1) Payment of General Fund, Federal Program, Food Service, Sales Tax, Special Education, District Maintenance bills.
(2) Accept low quote of $63,772.00 from Palomar Modular Buildings to purchase a new 12’X30’ restroom building at Jonesboro Hodge Middle School, to be paid from ESSERS II.
(3) Accept low quote of $12,975.00 from Dodson Enterprises, Inc. for the material and labor to build deck and ramp at Quitman High School on Portable Building, to be paid from Quitman District funds.
(4) Accept low quote of $112,000.00 from Hot2Cold Heating and A/C & Electrical to purchase 25 Three Ton Heat Pumps for Jonesboro Hodge Middle School, to be paid from ESSERS II.
(5) Accept low quote of $207,005.00 from Golden Remodeling for material and labor to replace roof (omitting gym) at Jonesboro Hodge Middle School, to be paid from ESSER II.
(6) Accept low quote of $81,000.00 from Golden Remodeling for material and labor to replace cafeteria roof at Jonesboro Hodge Elementary School, to be paid from ESSER II.
2023 Jackson Parish School Board Sworn In
Mrs. Laura Culpepper, Jackson Parish Clerk of Court swore in the 2023 School Board members for their four year term at the first regularly scheduled meeting of the new year that was held at the Central Office on Monday, January 9th.
