
Quitman High School entries Hayden Davis and Maddox Duck hauled in a five fish stringer of 12.51 lbs. to grab 3rd place among 57 entrants in the inaugural 2023 event of the Northeast Louisiana High School (NELAHS) Anglers Tournament Schedule. Another QHS entry, Tucker Goss and Cary Hayden Seymore, also landed five fish that weighed a total of 9.63 lbs. to come in 5th place and earn the distinction of being the top Junior High team in the January 14th competition held on Lake Claiborne.

15th Place – Addison Ledford / Hailey Chatham – Weston High School, 3 Fish, 4.31 lbs.
18th Place – Landin Chatham / Jessie Parker – NELAHS Anglers, 2 Fish, 3.75 lbs.
23rd Place – Brody Halbrook / Gabe Walsworth – Gracepoint Christian, 1 Fish, 2.13 lbs.

The tourney was the third of eight scheduled in the 2022-23 season following an August 27, 2022, date on the Ouachita River and a September 24, 2023 outing on Lake D’Arbonne.

Next up on the schedule anglers will try their luck at Caney Lake on February 11, which will be the final regular season tournament before the Student Angler Federation (SAF) Jr. and High School State Championships on Lake D’Arbonne on March 18 and 19.
