Jackson Parish Recreation District Board Meeting Minutes
November 28, 2022
A budget hearing for the Jackson Parish Recreation District was held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 6:00pm followed by the regular monthly meeting at 6:30pm in the Jackson Parish Golf Course Banquet Room, 524 Club House Drive, Jonesboro, Louisiana. Members Present: Mr. Ricky Cash, Mr. Jeff Hairston, Mr. Brandon Lamkin and Mr. Chris Womack. Absent: Mr. Brent Barnett, Mr. Rodney Potts and Mr. Sullivan Stevens.
The President, Mr. Cash, called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Mr. Cash and Mr. Hairston led the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Cash opened floor for the 2023 public budget hearing.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to close public budget hearing with no public comments. All in favor. Motion carried.
Mr. Cash opened the floor for public comments. There were no public comments.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to amend the 2022 budget. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to adopt the 2023 budget. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Hairston seconded Mr. Lamkin to approve October minutes and September financials. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to set 2023 board meetings for every 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00pm excluding holidays. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to declare Ruston Daily Leader as the official journal for 2023. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Hairston to approve resolution to retain the Law Office of Steven M. Gatlin, L.L.C. for 2023. All in favor. Motion carried.
Mr. Smith gave board update on some of the ongoing programs at the golf course and the sports complex including basketball.
Motion Mr. Hairston seconded Mr. Lamkin to table finance and personnel committees until next meeting. All in favor. Motion carried.
Motion Mr. Womack seconded Mr. Lamkin to approve Cooperative Endeavor with the Jackson Parish Watershed. All in favor. Motion carried.
Next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2023 at 6:00p.m. in the Jackson Parish Golf Course Banquet Room.
