On February 10, fifth graders at Jonesboro Hodge Elementary School (J-HES) had a unique opportunity to speak with a German immigrant. Karol Chrisman, a World War 2 survivor, immigrated to America with her GI husband. She told the kids all about her experience as an immigrant as well as her opinion on whether or not immigrating to the United States was worth the sacrifices she had to make. Students were also able to ask her questions about her experiences as an American immigrant.
